Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.'
Peter, those are Cheerios.

To start. Don't message me if you think that beneath my nasty exterior there's a delicate flower who just wants to be loved. Even if it was true (it isn't), what do you expect me to say? "Oh, you've guessed. Please save me from myself"? No. You can woo me. But I leave the facility up for my own amusement. So your profile will have to be far better than if you just send me a message.
I might also clarify that I'm happily married and not interested in minors or long-distance relationships, so take that in to consideration before you decide to message me.
Prejudice in any form will make me hostile very quickly. I believe that 'political correctness' is the biggest straw man in existence. It's merely people whining about having their language challenged. I do however tend heavily towards intellectual elitism and don't have any problem with sneering at stupid people.
I am sarcastic. I can also be arrogant. If I dislike people, I'm also pretty abrasive. Note that overly poor grammar and spelling will bring those traits out instantly. I'm not going to be nasty about a few typos. However, if it will take me too long to decipher what your semiliterate wittering is supposed to mean, then frankly, I can't be fucked. (Just to clarify, this obviously doesn't apply if English isn't your first language. Not being able to speak a second language myself, I'm always incredibly impressed by those who can.) Until I get to know someone, you'll largely exist as an abstract concept to me. I will carry on talking to you if you amuse me, if you intrigue me or if I find you interesting, because all of those things will make me suspect you're someone I'd actually like to know properly. If that isn't the case, I won't. Naturally, I don't expect you to treat me any differently. If you decide that you'd rather talk to other people on here than me, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
If I like people, I like them a lot. In that case I'm a good listener, but not otherwise. If people interest me, I become interested in how they think and feel. And I have been told I'm reasonably good at understanding how people think, in a way lots of people aren't.
I write. But only show me your writing if we've actually been getting on for a reasonable amount of time. And I will be honest.
I tend to see the world in black and white. Shades of grey have never been my strong point. If I put you in the "us" as opposed to the "them" box this is obviously a good thing. If I don't, it isn't.
I'm very keen on honesty. I'm honest and I expect my friends to be the same way. I don't see the point in friendship (let alone anything else) if you're going to lie to each other.
